Description

My first close-up star called Startris
I know the background is boring and star isn't looking very well, but it was only try ok?
Only thing i really like on this image is that small unnamed terra planet and blue colours...

Hope you like it..

That star is about to make Gold.

for a long time I thought Stars were boring, you know just light up everything. BUT at the atomic level, so many elements are made from the fusion...unfortunately gold is not one of them during it life cycle. the highest a start can make is Iron.

it's when it explodes it creates even heavier elements like gold. so all the gold we see and love today came from exploding stars millions to billions of years ago. the pressure is so great in the final collaps, the iron in the star fuses to form dense elements, the collapse moves with so much speed, the new core within the star begin to crack. now image snapping a rubber band, but billion of them snapping back on to your hand at the same time. BOoM!. Nova or a super Nova. Gold and many other elements are formed within the explosion itself.

but gold is hard to make. it has 79 protons. the condition has to be right. nature love even numbers at the atomic level. this make gold special.

sorry about the rant. your picture got my science side of me going.
